Get off the beaten path and take a leisurely drive through the Central Kentucky countryside for great family fun down on the farm!  Sample or purchase delicious Kentucky foods such as fresh seasonal vegetables, mouth-watering peaches, apples, jellies, jams and sauces, Kentucky-bred beef and steak products, and so much more.  Breathe in the fresh country air while you relax and enjoy naturally inviting scenery.  You'll also find Kentucky wineries and vineyards, where you can watch the making of fine wines, and even sample the grapes.  You can wind your way through a corn maze, take a leisurely hayride or see how wool from sheep or alpaca or llama becomes a snuggly scarf, shawl or other garment.  There are famous Kentucky distilleries where the finest bourbons and whiskeys are made that offer tours.  Take beekeeping lessons, browse original handcrafted local arts and crafts, and see historic homes and sites, many listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  You can also visit festivals, fairs and other annual & seasonal events. 

Enjoy taking a trip back to rural roots, and learning family farm history through hands-on experiences.  Kentucky farms are fun and the Central Kentucky area offers great opportunities for an inexpensive afternoon or weekend getaway.
